Donate Items
Food, clothing, and household items for the boys we serve.
Through donations, we are able to provide food, clothing, and household items to those who are being served by our programs. We accept donations of food, furniture, working appliances, and clothing.
For more information about any donation, contact us at info@miraclefarm.org or 979-836-0901.
Food donations
We all know that good nutrition is necessary for children, but did you know that research shows it’s especially important for those who have experienced trauma? In order to better serve our clients and families, we are developing a more comprehensive, trauma-informed approach that includes a high protein, healthy nutrition initiative. Healthy nutrition is vital because it promotes better brain function, blood sugar maintenance, and emotional regulation.
- Nuts (salted peanuts are a favorite)
- Jerky, like our partner Perky Jerky
- Trail mix
New or like-new clothing
Donations of new or like-new clothing are accepted and used by the boys served by our ministry, within certain standards. Any items that are accepted but cannot be used by those we serve are passed on to other nonprofit agencies that can use them. We provide a receipt for the gift, but the donor is responsible for determining a value of the clothing for income tax purposes.
Furniture, appliances, and household items
Furniture, appliances, and household items are needed by our ministry and often by the boys who are transitioning into independent living.
We cannot accept items that are not in good working condition or garage sale leftovers. However, if you have a specific item that you would like to submit for donation, please contact us for approval.
Vehicles
Miracle Farm generally will accept gifts of new and used vehicles (cars, trucks, vans, tractors, and more) that are in good condition and can be used by our ministry. Used cars and minivans are often needed by older teenage residential boys to get to college or work.
When the vehicle is used in our ministry or provided to a client, the donor is eligible for a fair market value charitable deduction. Vehicles that cannot be used in any of our programs will be sold and the proceeds used to serve our boys. In this circumstance, the donor is typically eligible for a charitable deduction equal to the sale price.
There are specific IRS requirements pertaining to donations of tangible items valued at $5,000 or more. Typically these items require an independent appraisal, which is the responsibility of the donor.
